Today I went for my first PET scan.
I had to go to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham as it is the only one in the Midlands. It went okay but I am not in a rush to have another one soon.
I had to go into a room and be injected with this sugary radiation stuff and then lie down for an hour and then go in the scanner for 30 mins. But what I thought was the worse bit with the injection was wrong, it was the scanning. I had to have my head in a cage type thing so it wouldn't move and then have this white band strapped across my head and chin to stop me moving even more. It was horrible and I did get a bit scared.
The scan is to see if the treatment is working and it hasn't spread anywhere else in my body. I hopefully get the results on Saturday, so fingers crossed.
